Greater Victoria Bike to Work Society is in need of a graphic design volunteer to help create outreach materials for Bike to Work Week! They are looking for someone to design posters and social media ads/graphics for their upcoming 2020 events such as Bike to Work Week in May, the launch event in April, and some Bike Skills Courses which run May to October.

They are looking for someone who already has some graphic design experience. You will work closely with the executive director and staff in developing posters and graphics.

Help Fill A Dream is looking for TC10K Finish Line Volunteers on April 26. Help Fill A Dream is a charitable foundation. They inspire hope, help and happiness for Vancouver Island children under the age of 19 with life-threatening conditions by fulfilling their dreams, improving their quality of life and assisting their families with care and financial support.

How would you like to be at the center of the action at the finish line at the TC10K handing out medals to runners and walkers while supporting the efforts of Help Fill A Dream? This is an exciting opportunity at one of Victoria’s most spectacular events.

South Island Long-Term Care Home is looking for an Activity and Social Engagement Volunteer at Piercy Respite Hotel which is located at 1454 Hillside Ave.

By spending time with each client to both provide friendly conversation and and support engaging in an activity, you will be helping to increase their socialization and reduce their stress. This overall contribution to the clients’ quality of life is the invaluable difference volunteers make.

Piercy Respite provides a safe, secure and supportive environment for elderly guests whose caregivers require a period of rest and renewal. The activity volunteer will assist the activity staff in ensuring each guest has engaging social activities to participate in.
Both organizational training (online learning) and site-specific training (with the unit staff and experienced volunteers) will be provided. Overall support of the volunteer role is provided by the Volunteer Coordinator.

This role is primarily indoors (weather permitting there can be visits to the attached and enclosed garden) in a lovely and supportive environment. Times are during the daytime on weekdays and weekends. You must be 16 or over to volunteer.

Coming up in April is the Esquimalt 5K and Kids Fun Run! On Saturday, April 4 come and volunteer for the most scenic 5K in the region – journeying through Saxe and Macaulay Point Parks. The event attracts all levels of runners and includes chip timing, a healthy living marketplace, refreshments and coffee, and a children’s corner with a variety of activities for all ages.

They are recruiting volunteers for the following positions:
Route marshaling – April 4 (8-11:30 am)
Food table – April 4 (8:30-11 am)
Package pick-up – April 3 (7:30-9:30 am and 5-7 pm) and April 4 (7:30-8:45 am)
