Service Opportunities – January 30

Women In Need (WIN) is a community resource that has several thrift shops throughout the city. They are looking for help with a variety of tasks, including organizing donations, jewelry, clothing, books and household items. They are also looking for greeters for their stores.

If you are interested in helping out, please visit their webpage.

On Wednesday, February 5 we will be baking muffins that will be donated to local breakfast programs. This will be happening right here on campus in the Bolton/Timmis common room at 3:45 pm.

We have space for eight people, so please fill out this form if you would like to come and help out!

Mount St. Mary Hospital is looking for activity volunteers. You will help and assist senior residents to and from activities including special events and more. Wheelchair training and orientation is provided.

For more information visit their website, or contact Anne McCaffrey at 250-480-3118 or [email protected]

Do you enjoy baking? Are you are willing to bring a full cookie tin to the Swan Lake Nature House a couple of times a month?

Your cookies will be much appreciated by their volunteers. They have Outdoor Restoration Teams and Office Volunteers coming in on a daily basis. Please note that several cookie makers are needed because the volunteers love cookies! (And it’s OK to bake other treats instead of cookies.)

You can choose when to drop off the cookies because the Swan Lake Nature House is open every day. They will happily accept your cookies as often as you choose to make them! Please tape a list of ingredients and your name to the cookie tin.

If you have any questions, please call 250-479-0211.
