Service Opportunities – December 9

Oaklands Community Association is looking for volunteers for upcoming holiday events. There are a variety of dates and options including a Breakfast with Santa on December 14! Shifts are about two hours long.

The annual Gift Wrap is one of the biggest fundraising events for the Mustard Seed. During the month of December, more than 100 volunteers participate at gift wrapping stations located in shopping malls. Gifts are wrapped in exchange for a donation to The Mustard Seed.

Have fun spreading holiday cheer while wrapping gifts. Every booth is open until December 24. Shifts are available in the morning, afternoon and evening on weekdays and weekends. Locations include Mayfair Shopping Centre, Hillside Shopping Centre or Tillicum Shopping Centre.

Christmas is around the corner and The Salvation Army is asking if you would be willing to ring those iconic bells and volunteer on a kettle. This is a great opportunity for a few friends.

Tuesdays to Saturdays until December 24

10 am – 12 pm
12-2 pm
2-4 pm
4-6 pm
6-8 pm
8-9 pm

The 11th annual Gingerbread Showcase, Habitat for Humanity Victoria’s annual fundraiser, is on now and they need your help hosting the many visitors that come out to view and vote for their favourite creation. The Parkside Hotel is once again hosting the event in their beautiful atrium.

Local professional and home chefs have built imaginative gingerbread creations, all in support of Habitat Victoria. The show runs daily from 9 am to 9 pm until Sunday, January 5. Shifts are only three hours long with up to two ambassadors per shift. Sign up for as many and you like – preferably with a friend!

Mount St. Mary Hospital is looking for activity volunteers. You will help and assist senior residents to and from activities at Mount St. Mary Hospital including special events and more. Wheel chair training and orientation is provided.
