Service Opportunities – October 3

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria is looking for in-school mentors. You will be paired with an elementary school-aged child and you visit with your ‘mentee’ once a week for one hour during school hours at their school.

The In-School Mentoring Program provides youth with a role model and a friend to talk to (within school grounds) and share the experiences of growing up. For one hour a week, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in activities such as board games, crafts or just hang out on school grounds.

The program requires a weekly visit of one hour for the duration of the school year. Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays. This opportunity is best suited for Grade 11 and 12 students who have some free periods each week.
