Students learn about volunteer opportunities available in Victoria during this week's Volunteer Fair.

The Burnside Gorge Community Association is hosting a fun community Halloween event called the Monster Mash on Saturday, Oct. 26. They have fun and games, music, and refreshments for kids and families. There are various volunteer positions available including spooky greeters, snack and refreshment volunteers, activity leaders, and clean up crew. For more details, contact Rachel at [email protected] or call 250-388-5269.

What are you up to this weekend? Consider volunteering for the Vic West Food Security Collective’s Corn Roast on Sunday, Sept. 15! They need help between 10:30 am and 5 pm. Some of the jobs available include:

Mount St. Mary Hospital is an organization that provides long-term health support for adults. They have openings in their Entertainer Resident Programs. Do you play an instrument? Enhance the lives of residents with the gift of music. Residents will sing along and tap their toes especially with classical, rock, blues, country, folk and jazz. If you are interested, please contact Anne at 250-480-3118.

The Cridge Centre is running their Cyber Seniors program again. This program connects generations through weekly, one hour visits over the school year. Students help seniors use iPads, smartphones, laptops and computers. Seniors provide students with the opportunity to build mentorship skills and experience working with and developing a relationship with people many decades older than themselves. See the poster below for details:
