Service Opportunities – April 11

Are you interested in working with students in a Kindergarten class? Maybe reading with them, playing with them or going on a walking tour? There are opportunities every weekday, except Thursday mornings.

You would need to go when you have a free period so it might change from week to week. It is at George Jay Elementary, which is a short busride away. If you are interested please email Ms. Mulvihill at

Next Wednesday, April 17, SMUS is hosting the District Authority Scholarship Adjudication. To pull this off smoothly, they need student hosts. Volunteers will assist the adjudicators and students to find the locations where they are supposed to be, and help people find and do what they need to make the evening go smoothly.

Please click here for the sign-up sheet. You can choose to volunteer for one or more hours.

The Greater Victoria Green Team is looking for environmental volunteers to participate in fun and ecologically important events and activities throughout the Capital Region!

Some of the activities include invasive plant removals, planting native trees and shrubs, cleaning up shorelines, and many other types of conservation and restoration activities.

You can check out their upcoming events and find out how to participate on their online meet-up group. They have flexible hours. Sign-up for as many or as few volunteer events you would like!

Alumni Weekend is coming up and the SMUS Archives needs some help to get the trophies and silver cups polished, shiny and ready to be on display!

Please email Ms. Waksel at if you are interested in helping out.

On Alumni Weekend, SMUS is hosting several events and they need student volunteers to help out!

They need help on Friday May 3 for about 45 minutes, handing out name tags.

Also on Saturday May 4, they offer fun activities for children right here on campus. They need supervisors for the Bouncy Castle, the Dunk Tank, and Bubble Soccer. You would be working with an adult volunteer to help set up and make sure the kids are having fun!

They also need help later in the day on Saturday May 4 with some clean up. This could also be on the morning of Sunday May 5.

Please email if you are interested.
