Service Opportunities – March 8

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award crew are helping out at some upcoming events and they need volunteers to help (even if you are not doing the award you are welcome!)

TC10K Run – Sunday, April 28
Start/Finish Line (10 people) – 5-9:30 a.m. (4.5 hours)
“Ask me” volunteers (6 people) – 6:30-10:30 a.m. (4 hours)
Environmental crew (6 people) – 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (6 hours)
Family zone/kids run (4 people) – 10 a.m. to noon (2 hours) – hand out medals

Oak Bay Half Marathon – Sunday, May 26
Water/Cheer station (20 people) – 7-11:00 a.m. (4 hours)

Are you interested in keeping tons of material out of the landfill? Habitat for Humanity Victoria is looking for volunteers at their Tillicum ReStore. This is a home and building supply store that accepts and resells quality new and used building materials, as well as furniture, appliances and home accessories.

Lifetime Networks understands the importance of friendship as one of the cornerstones to a fulfilling life. Through their programs they help people with disabilities develop and maintain lasting friendships.

They are seeking a volunteer for Friday Night Socials. You would support the lead instructor by participating in activities, facilitating social opportunities, mentoring relationships, making crafts, and having fun. Contact Emily at 250-477-4112 ext. 305 or email [email protected].
