Do you love event planning? The Victoria West Community Association is seeking passionate people to join their Projects and Events Committee. Capital City Comic Con is coming! They are looking for volunteers ages 16 and up. As a volunteer you will have great perks, including passes and merchandise.

They are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
– Information Crew
– Line Management Crew (Indoor & Outdoor)
– Merchandise Store Crew
– Production Crew
– Team Leader
– Ticket Sales Crew

Volunteers will be provided a handbook which will include job description, FAQs and emergency procedures. Volunteer will also be asked to complete volunteer orientation which will be held the week before the event. Be prepared to be on your feet for most positions.

Glenwarren Lodge is a senior care facility and they are looking for help with their recreation program. This position is essential and complementary to enhance the quality of life of residents. You can make suggestions of what you would like to do with the residents, and they will help make it happen! Art classes? Story Time? Cards? Crossword Puzzles? Bingo? Tea Time?

The Mustard Seed Street is looking for volunteers age 16 and up. The Mustard Seed is a non-profit fighting hunger and restoring “hope, faith and love” to hurting souls in Greater Victoria. The runner and stocker will be responsible for monitoring and replenishing the stock in the market in a safe manner.

Some ideal qualities for this volunteer position include:
– read English (especially labels and best before dates)
– team player, exercising good judgement
– ability to lift heavy objects
– bending, reaching, squatting
– comfortable being on your feet
– strong attention to detail
– watching for dented cans and open packages as per guidelines
– displaying stock in an organized fashion
– adheres to safety protocols operating procedures
– ability to work under pressure
– organizational and methodical skills
