Victoria Seedy Saturday is coming up on February 16. This is Victoria’s premier seed and garden event featuring educational speakers, gardening workshops, a seed and book exchange, more than 70 seed and garden related vendors, a cafe and children’s area.

They need help to make this annual event run. Opportunities include seed exchange, cashiers, AV tech support, greeters, children’s activities, book exchange and more. The 25th Victoria Film Festival is on from February 1 to 10. The VFF brings the world to Victoria’s door by programming a diverse selection of Canadian and international films. They support media artists with a particular focus on Canadian independent media artists through exhibition of their work. It’s a vibrant program celebrating the greatest storytelling medium of all time.

They are seeking theatre venue volunteers and help for the art show. If you do 15 hours of volunteering it will earn you 5 free films and a festival T-shirt!

Parks Canada – Volunteer with Canada’s Ecosystem Restoration National Program. Opportunities are available to help restore endangered ecosystems at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites. They have a variety of restoration events happening across the city all year long.

The Fairfield Gonzales Community Association needs a monthly clothing swap volunteer on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

They need someone to help with:
– greeting folks and helping them lay out donated items
– keeping things tidy, answering questions and telling new folks how the swap works
– helping sort clothes at the end, some to keep for next month and the rest to donate
– putting away tables and boxes of clothes at the end of the day
