The Canadian Cancer Society Vancouver Island Lodge is looking for a volunteer to help keep its libraries tidy and up-to-date. No specialized librarian skills are required – just the ability to be organized, kind and compassionate.
The library volunteer is responsible for regularly reviewing the Cancer Information Materials to ensure brochures are up to date, identifying which materials need to be reordered and maintaining the onsite library with a variety of books for clients to access while staying at the Lodge.
The Royal Jubilee Hospital needs volunteers in the gift shop. Volunteers are asked to work 3 four-hour shifts each month. Duties include being a cashier, helping customers find merchandise in the gift shop, stocking new merchandise and general help in the gift shop.
They require all volunteers to visit the shop to pick up an application form. The hospital is located at 1952 Bay Street. At that time they will provide you with information about the position (duties, required hours, etc.) as well as answer any questions you may have. You can visit the shop seven days a week and ask for an application form. The gift shop’s operating hours can be found on their website.
