– set-up
– welcoming guests (taking tickets, matching up online ticket sales with names)
– serving the meal
– running kids’ activities
– handing out presents
– tear down
– bussing tables and keeping the room tidy

Island Health is looking for a Tuck Cart Volunteer at the Gorge Road Hospital or Glengarry Hospital. Through interaction with residents, and a bit of friendly conversation as they purchase small items, you will be helping to increase their socialization and providing them with small comforts. This overall contribution to the residents’ quality of life is the invaluable difference volunteers make.

This role involves pushing a small cart with various small food and sundry items, recording purchases in a ledger and communicating the needs of the cart with staff. Both organizational training (online learning) and site specific training (with the unit staff and experienced volunteers) will be provided. One shift per week – typically 1.5 – 2 hours.
