Service Opportunities – April 12

The 155th Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival is taking place on the Victoria Day long weekend (May 19-21) in Topaz Park.

It is one of the largest and longest-running festivals in Victoria, the event is 100% volunteer run, and there are many great volunteering roles available. They include volunteering in the Celtic Music Tent, the History Tent, the Heritage Tent, the Clan Area and the Merchandise Vendors Area. Volunteers must be 15 years or older (although younger volunteers may register provided prior permission is granted by one of the Volunteer Co-Chairs).

If you are interested you can sign up online.

There is a mass CPR training session at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on Friday, April 20 and they need volunteers to help with the sessions. They will be running three sessions (at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.) where 100 people will be trained at a time. Volunteer duties include registering participants, filling out certificates, directing people, handing out certificates, handing out snacks, and some general tidying up. It starts at 1 p.m. and goes until 4 p.m. You can go for part of the afternoon, or the whole time.

For more information or to sign up to volunteer, contact Dr. Tina Webber at
