It’s Course Selection Season!

Earlier this week, Grade 8-11 parents and students learned about the 2018-2019 Senior School academic program. They had the chance to ask questions of Heads of Department, Academic Advisors and program leaders from various areas. Below are the slides from the event, along with PDFs of the Course Listings by Grade, and a “Frequently Asked Questions” document with subject-specific information.

For a detailed description of every course offered at SMUS, please see a copy of the Course Selection Guide. (Note: If you see the 2017-2018 guide when you open the link, you will need to refresh the page to get the 2018-2019 document.)

All current Grade 10 and 11 students have a meeting with their Academic Advisor/University Counsellor to plan their path through high school and beyond. Current Grade 8 and 9 students will meet with Academic Advisor and hear about the electives they can choose, and they will be supported in classroom sessions to make their course selections on SDS. We ask that all students finalize their course selection requests on SDS by March 6.

Students can access the course selection request system on SDS (Student Menu>Academics>Pre-Select) once the 2018-2019 school year re-registration documents have been processed by our Finance department (please be patient!). Students can select courses any time between now and March 6, and they can change their selections as often as they wish between now and then. There is no priority given to course requests made earlier than others at this point in the process.

If you have any questions, please contact your daughter or son’s Academic Advisor.
