The Victoria Highland Dance Association (VHDA) is holding their annual St. Andrew’s Day Competition on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Spectrum High School.
They require student volunteers to help out with the following:
– Selling programs and collecting admission charges at the front door.
– Selling food items at the concession.
– Selling tickets at the raffle table.
No prior dance knowledge is required, just helping hands. If you would like to come for one hour or two that would be fantastic. Longer shifts are possible but not required. For more information, please contact Elaine at [email protected].
The Cridge Centre for the Family is looking for students to participate in their Cyber Seniors Program. This is an amazing program where you help seniors discover the world of computers and the Internet! Please watch this video – it is fantastic, funny and shows you the impact of a program like this!
There is an orientation session next Tuesday (November 14) from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Cridge Centre if you are interested. Then you start one-on-one with seniors Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. and will continue to meet once a week on Tuesdays. There will be breaks for winter, spring and summer holidays.
If you are interested, please contact Alison at [email protected]
If you would like to come along to Hot Dog Wednesday on November 15 please email Mrs. Parker by Monday, November 13 to let her know. There are limited spaces so if you want to go, let her know right away!
Working with The Extreme Outreach Society, we set up a cart in Blanshard Court to serve hot dogs to kids and play all sorts of games with them; skipping, sidewalk chalk, soccer, tag, and hide & seek. It is a great chance to connect with some great kids, serve some hot dogs, and brush up on your BBQ skills!
We leave the school at 3:00 p.m. and are back by about 5:00 p.m. You will miss a bit of 5th period so please talk to your teacher and get permission beforehand to miss some of class. We have a ride down and a chaperone to go with you.
