The Downtown Victoria Buskers Festival is a free six-day family friendly community festival.
Starting Tuesday, July 11 until Sunday, July 16, Victoria will become a hub of busking talent with performers coming from far and wide – with a good dose of some homegrown talent thrown in! Dotted around the downtown core will be “Pitch Stop” pop-up locations where buskers will entertain and inspire.
There are a variety of volunteer positions available. Check out their website for more information.
Mark your calendars and join the Extreme Outreach Society from July 9-14 in Sooke for their annual Superkids Summer Camp for underprivileged children ages 6 to 12. They are looking for people to join their team for a great week! Remember that you can make a difference in the life of a child simply by volunteering. They hope to see you there for a week of fun and celebration, so please register here or email email@example.com for more information.
The Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island 2017 Kaleidoscope Ball is on June 3. This annual spring gala event is a truly unforgettable evening for parents and the kids they love (grandparents, aunts and uncles too!) that raises key funds to support the important work led by Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. In celebration of the Foundation’s 90th birthday this spring, it will be an unforgettable birthday-themed party for children and their families, including the delicious food, dancing and magic that this formal event is famous for.
This year’s event will include live and silent auctions, a photo booth and stories from Island families that have made it through a health crisis thanks to the compassionate support of the Foundation. There are volunteer opportunities available for the following times:
Set up: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Full shift: 3:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Half shift 1: 3:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Mrs. Tweedie needs volunteers to help at the annual Library Book Tea today, Friday, June 2, right here on campus. It runs from 2:30 p.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m. You can come for the whole time, or just part of it.
Volunteers will help set up for the tea: setting out cups, boiling water, cutting up cake, etc. Then you will help to make tea, pour, tea, wash cups and help with tidying up.
Come out and enjoy a chat with teachers about books. Enjoy a cup of tea and cake! Please email Mrs. Tweedie if you can help out: email@example.com.
