“It’s always just been a dream of mine to go to boarding school.”
Starting in September, Tatum Adair, from Red Deer, Alberta, will get to live that dream as we are pleased to announce that she is the winner of The Best School Year Ever® contest and a full-year boarding scholarship to St. Michaels University School.
Now in its fourth year, SMUS expanded the Best School Year Ever® contest this year to award scholarships to 10 North American students, valued at more than $180,000.
In addition to announcing Tatum as the grand prize winner today, we are thrilled to offer $20,000 scholarships each to our other four finalists: Youssef El Mays, Bella Knezevic, Zoe Ouimette and Tessa Rehill.
We previously announced Lisa Du Plessis, Janet Enge, Brayden Heal, Therese Mortejo and Sadie Sigfstead as the five runners-up, and winners of a $10,000 scholarship.
“We saw over the last three years that the Best School Year Ever contest was attracting talented students who likely never would have heard of SMUS, let alone join our community. We expanded it this year because we know this opportunity can be life-changing for students,” says Mr. Bob Snowden, Head of School. “We know all 10 students who received Best School Year Ever scholarships will be wonderful additions to our school community, and we hope to see them all in September.”
Thank you to all of the students who created videos and entered the contest.
