cookiesSMUS Education Extension is running spring break camps again this year and they are looking for volunteers. They need volunteers who would like to help out with a baking camp and a sports camp for children that takes place the week of March 20-24.

The baking camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon and the sports camp runs from noon to 4 p.m.. They are looking for students in Grades 10-12 who enjoy working with children. Please email to apply and let her know which camp you are interested in.

rbvThe Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum is once again participating in Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown. The 2017 event will be held February 23, 24, 25 and 26. The Villa will be open each day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They need volunteers to act as room stewards, to staff the gift shop, to welcome visitors at the front gate and to serve tea and coffee. They would appreciate a minimum two-hour commitment.

CeceliaCreekFriends of Cecelia Ravine Park is looked for volunteers to help remove invasive species, replant native plants and monitor the natural areas in Cecelia Ravine Park. The crew meets once a month for a work party in the park. Please bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes and long sleeves. If you have small secateurs and/or large loppers, please bring them with you. It takes place the first Saturday of every month (so the next one is March 4) from 9-11 a.m. Meet at Burnside Gorge Community Centre (471 Cecelia Rd.). Snacks and refreshments will be provided after the work party.
