downloadHabitat for Humanity Victoria seeks Gingerbread Showcase Room Ambassadors from November 19 to January 2.

Do you have a genial personality? Are you looking to get into the holiday spirit while you help Habitat Victoria raise funds to build homes for local lower income families? They have over 300 volunteer spaces to be filled at the popular Gingerbread Showcase. During a three-hour shift you will be welcoming some of the 25,000+ visitors who come to the Showcase each holiday season at the elegant Inn at Laurel Point to see the elaborate, completely edible creations. Training will be provided.

bgThe Burnside Gorge Community Centre is looking for volunteers for their Halloween Party. They need people to help set up next Friday (October 28) from 1-4 p.m. They are also looking for volunteers on the day of the event to help pass out snacks, run games, help with crafts, clean up, and to encourage families to take part in dancing. Volunteers are more than welcome to dress up in Halloween costumes.

Date: Saturday, October 29
Time: 2-4 p.m.
Location: 471 Cecelia Rd. – Burnside Gorge Community Centre.

There will be snacks, refreshments, games and dancing! Last year they had close to 80 people in attendance, mainly families with kids under the age of 12. For more information or to volunteer please contact Vanessa at [email protected]


SantaPhotos with Santa, a light-up ceremony, children’s concerts, carollers, horse and carriage rides, children’s crafts and face painting, food and refreshments. What else could anyone want for Christmas?

Come and help kick off the holiday season at the Saanich Municipal Hall on Saturday, December 3! They are looking for volunteers to help welcome and direct guests, hand out schedules and ballot tickets, and help wherever necessary.

Volunteers must be personable, responsible, enjoy working with people of all ages, be responsive to a variety of situations and follow directions well. Please dress festively! They will provide a Santa hat to each volunteer.

Qualifications Required and Desired:

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check (done in-house at your orientation)
  • Satisfactory completion of Child Protection Training (done in-house at your orientation)
  • Excellent communication
  • Enthusiastic!
  • Love working with children
  • Appropriate personal boundaries when working with children
  • Well organized
  • Willing to learn

ALL volunteers MUST have reached an intermediate level of English, as per the definition at http://www.londonschool.com/level-scale/
