They have over 300 volunteer spaces to be filled at the popular Gingerbread Showcase. During a three-hour shift you will be welcoming some of the 25,000+ visitors who come to the Showcase each holiday season at the elegant Inn at Laurel Point to see the elaborate, completely edible creations. Training will be provided.

Sign up with a friend for one shift or many shifts! Orientation sessions are offered November 17, 18 and 19. Visit www.habitatvictoria.com/volunteer. Or call Nancy at 250-480-7688 ext. 105 for more information.

download-1The Kiwanis Pavilion is looking for volunteers for a variety of long-term positions. Volunteers play a vital role assisting staff in fulfilling their goal of providing a warm home like environment for the residents and treating them with respect, dignity and compassion. The Pavilion is a residential care facility serving frail seniors, with a particular focus on caring for people living with dementia.

They are currently looking for volunteers to assist with their Music & Memory Program. This amazing program uses iPod-based personalized playlists to reconnect individuals to the world around them through their favourite music. It is a national project that restores joy to the lives of individuals who struggle with dementia. The program helps residents reconnect with family, friends and caregivers through personalized digital music.

They are also looking for volunteers to help with activities like baking, bowling, and fitness programs. They would love to hear from you and find a way for you to get involved. Another way to get involved is to play music or sing for the residents. If you have musical skill on the piano, violin, guitar or other instrument, get in touch to come in for a low-key performance.

Please fill out the Volunteer Application and return it to Lynne Thompson, Volunteer Coordinator either by e-mail (PDF) to [email protected] or by mail or in person to 3034 Cedar Hill Road. Please call 250-598-2022 ext. 256 for more information.
