Service Opportunities – February 18th

Here is a selction of new opportunities for the week. Please come and check in with Mrs. Parker if you have any questions!
uplandsFriends of Uplands Park – Saturday Feb 20 – Invasive Carpet Burweed, English Ivy and Daphne Removal.  From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Meet at Cattle Point near the first boat ramp. There will be refreshments. Remember your volunteer hours help the Oak Bay Parks to receive a federal grant from the Habitat Stewardship Program.  The last 2 years they have received over $33,000 each year.
This is a good volunteer opportunity for High School students to earn community service hours. Contact Margaret if you have any questions at

greenteamSunday Feb 28 – Invasive Plant Removal with the Greater Victoria Green Team.  This event is from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Meet at Cattle Point near the first boat ramp.  Refreshments are provided! Sign up and get more information here:


Living Edge is an organization in Victoria that prepares meals for community members in need. They serve the dinners on Sunday evenings each week.

Dinner set up and Service:
On Sunday afternoon and early evening they need help setting up for dinner and serving. Interested applicants should email or call 250-598-2446 for more information.
