Are you looking for an unforgettable adventure this summer? Have you ever wanted to meet other young people who are doing the Award across Canada and abroad? Do you want to discover new passions, try activities you’d never dream of doing, push your boundaries, build new friendships all while gaining leadership skills, making a difference and tapping into your awesomeness?
Then this unique national Duke of Ed event could be the adventure you’ve been waiting for. It’s summer camp, the Duke of Ed way.
This summer we will be hosting our second national LEAD event which is about Leadership, Experience, Adventure and Development. Over the course of nine days, you will have the opportunity to engage in activities that make up the Award alongside participants from across Canada. It’s the chance to spend time in the great outdoors, take part in workshops, develop leadership skills, and meet other people who share the same interests as you. The LEAD event will count towards your Residential Project for those participants completing the Gold Level and are over 16 years of age.
This year, LEAD will take place August 23 – 31, 2016 at Camp Cedarwood, in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, which is approximately 1.5 hours north of Winnipeg Manitoba. This camp will be open exclusively to Award participants and LEAD staff!
This event is open to participants and recent alumni 14 to 24 years of age. If have any questions or concerns about attending LEAD please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have to ensure you have the best summer adventure. Please contact us at [email protected].
