ICA – Youth Peer Tutor and Mentor

The Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria is looking for peer tutors  to assist newcomer youth with homework, and help youth feel welcome in Victoria. They share experiences, offer friendship and  provide information pertaining to youth in Greater Victoria.

Homework club meets Wednesdays 4:00 – 5:30 at ICA, September through June.

Requirements for Peer tutors:
-aged 14 – 22
-good academic record
-tutoring experience an asset
-cross-cultural experience or personal commitment to learning about other cultures
-curious and open-minded
-Canadian born or living in Canada for at least 3 years

You will be asked to complete an online application, and at your interview the Coordinator of Volunteer Services will go over the process for completing a criminal record check. Upon receipt of a clear criminal record check, you will be contacted to discuss position placement availability and options.
