SPCA Junior Volunteer Program

The BC SPCA’s Victoria Branch is once again accepting applications to their Junior Volunteer Program, open to those 16 to 18 years of age.

The programs currently run from September to January and February to June. Successful applicants will volunteer one Saturday a month indirectly with the animals and under the guidance of a staff member at the shelter. They have two types of positions available, Biosecurity Team and Adoption Hosts. Throughout the program, participants will gain a greater understanding of the work required to run an animal shelter and all the types of animals that call it their home. At the end of the 5 months, those participants who are hard working and have shown dedication will be invited to become full volunteers at the shelter in one of the animal programs. Without this program, potential volunteers need to be 19 years of age. Volunteers will also receive a certificate of completion.

Please note, they cannot accept students 15 years of age or under as they are not able to be alone in the shelter.

Please read the following information in the Program Outline, and fill out the application form and reference to apply. The completed application can be sent to Breeanna McDonald
