Docents and Gift Shop Volunteers

The Robert Bateman Centre seeks docents for the gallery and attendants for the gift shop. Engage visitors in the magic of Bateman’s work while experiencing his passion for nature, or assist staff in the beautiful Thinking Like a Mountain gift shop.

Docents are ambassadors that work in the gallery engaging patrons and visitors. Their role is an important one as they are meant to enhance the visitor experience. Information on Robert Bateman will be provided and a level of self-study is expected. They encourage anyone who is friendly with a helpful nature to apply. If you love art and have an affinity for nature you will find many friends here.

Shop Attendants volunteer in the Robert Bateman, Thinking Like a Mountain shop. Thinking Like a Mountain offers a wide selection of original, finely crafted giftware by local artists. They are looking for friendly and helpful volunteers to learn about the Artists featured in the shop. You will be answering visitor questions, directing patrons to the gallery, acting as an extra set of eyes and assisting the gift shop staff as needed.

Please call 250-940-3630 for information.
