Relive Your Glory Years at Alumni Weekend

SMUS-AlumniWeekend-rugby

We are just one day away from the kick-off to Alumni Weekend 2015 (May 1-2)! SMUS is so excited to welcome you and your families all back on campus to relive your glory years, meet up with old friends, show off your children, enjoy the festivities and see how the school has changed, grown and developed since graduation.

This is an unprecedented year for alumni activities, with events ranging from the second annual SMUS Legends Touch Rugby game honouring two of the school’s most esteemed rugby coaches, Stuart Swan and Mike Walsh, scheduled for a 2:15 p.m. kick off on May 2; to the Cadet Core’s Pipes and Drums Band, which is made up of graduates of University School from the 1960s who will be piping in the 1st XV for the big rugby game.

It all kicks off on Saturday at 10 a.m. with a complementary pancake breakfast in the main quad. Here, you will experience a student-run international marketplace, displaying a plethora of food from around the world while being entertained by the school’s talented student musicians and dancers.

Put your finger on the pulse of the future direction of the school and let your voice as an alumnus be heard at the Alumni Association Annual General Meeting, in the Copeland Lecture Theatre starting at noon. Here, Head of School Bob Snowden will be available to answer your questions and listen to your ideas about the school and its development.

The school field and squash courts will be abuzz with sporting events, as alumni teams will be taking on the school’s teams in field hockey, Senior girls soccer and squash. Those who are not participating in sport can enjoy the “Touchline Tavern”, which will open at 1:30 p.m. in front of the Wenman Pavilion. These events will all culminate in the Junior boys and 1st XV rugby games, kicking off at 1:00 and 3:45 p.m. respectively.

We can’t wait to see you, celebrate your successes, meet your families and unlock the vault of your school memories.
