Dancing Down the Yellow Brick Road

SMUS-MS-WizardofOz-Dance-05

The Middle School’s three-night musical, The Wizard of Oz, kicked off last night in a great and powerful way. Audiences left the McPherson Playhouse grinning ear-to-ear, with catchy tunes stuck in their heads from the terrific show.

The SMUS Review has chatted with the actors and young musicians featured in The Wizard of Oz, but the other large onstage component that ties the musical together is the dancing. Our talented student dance crew helps bring the songs we all love and story we all know to life. See what it takes to be a dancer in a musical (trust us, it’s physically demanding) in the behind-the-scenes video below.

Congratulations to the students, staff and massive behind-the-scenes parent and community support for all of the hard work over the last five months to get The Wizard of Oz staged.

With only two performances left, and tickets in such high demand, the McPherson Playhouse has opened the balcony for tonight and tomorrow’s shows. Get your tickets to Oz before they’re gone!
