A research team from Sports Cardiology B.C. will be coming to St. Michaels University School on Wednesday, March 11th from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm to conduct testing. They need helpers at the registration table in 2 hour shifts. This is not actually participating in the study, but helping with the organization.
They will readily provide you with information on the research they are doing and can also show you how to conduct ECGs which should be of value. Furthermore, there will potentially be a seminar that evening that you could attend if you are interested,
Sports Cardiology BC is a program from Vancouver Coastal Health operated out of UBC Hospital. The program has a large research component, and one study they are currently focusing on is testing young competitive athletes (aged 12-35) for cardiovascular disorders.
If you are interested in helping at the registration table, please contact Daniel at [email protected]
**You are only able to volunteer during spares or breaks. No class time can be missed for this!
