The SMUS Open House is an opportunity for families to visit our Junior, Middle and Senior school campuses and get a sense of our school community. So much of what makes this school unique can only be experienced by being on campus. A culture of openness, respect and inclusivity is evident in conversations one might hear, in reading messages on posters or banners for clubs and councils, or in seeing students interact with their peers and classroom teachers.
Perhaps the most important reason to attend SMUS Open House is to ask questions of students, teachers and others and to learn something new about life at SMUS.
Perhaps the most important reason to attend SMUS Open House is to ask questions of students, teachers and others and to learn something new about life at SMUS. Although the website contains vast resources about a SMUS education, and the school can offer complete admissions packages, no amount of print information can compare to speaking directly with a teacher or student about personalized learning, or e-portfolios, or Brain Awareness Week; nothing compares to being on campus immersed in all that’s going on at our schools.
Visiting SMUS during Open House, a day when school is in session, allows our student tour guides to give families an authentic look at our school community, from observing classroom lessons to exploring our bustling boarding houses.
SMUS Open House is a day we look forward to every year, as it’s a chance for our students, teachers and staff to share with your family what makes this school a truly special place to study, live and work.
