Buskers Festival July 18-27th

buskersFrom July 18th to July 27th, 2014 Victoria welcomes the world to our beautiful downtown! Professional street performers from our region as well as from across Canada, Europe, Sweden, Australia, South America and the US will converge for our first ever “All Stars”. Our event is a family oriented, free-to-attend festival presented on mostly outdoor stages.

They need volunteers for various tasks:

Stage Manager:
Duties include the following: •Overseeing the activities at designated stage and remaining at stage for duration of shift•Reporting performance delays, as well as any issues that may have occurred •Listen actively to 2-way radios to remain aware of busker activities, scheduling changes, and site issues (i.e. missing child) • Operate equipment table during performance times as requested by busker•Distribute program guides for those who request one •Ensure the volunteer taking over for you has signed for 2-way radio at the location

Shifts: 11:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-7:00pm or 7:00-close (11:00pm). The event runs from July 18-27, and they would expect an average of 3 shifts per volunteer. All volunteers will need to attend the Orientation Meeting (date to be determined in early July).

Set-Up and Take-Down:
Duties include the following: •Help with the set up process of stages, preparing appropriate equipment (audio)•Making sure the stage area is clean and presentable for the day • Take down stage and necessary equipment in preparation for the night•Listen to 2-way radio to remain aware of busker activities, scheduling changes and issues (i.e. missing child).

Shifts: 9:00am-12:00pm or 9:00pm-11:30pm. The event runs from July 18-27, and they would expect an average of 3 shifts per volunteer. All volunteers will need to attend the Orientation Meeting (date to be determined in early July).

Runners:
Duties include the following: •Provide temporary duties when needed for all festival positions and duties as requested by festival management• Listen to 2-way radio to remain aware of busker activities, scheduling changes and issues (i.e. missing child). •At any time, Runners will be located at the Headquarters Tent.

Shifts: 11:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-7:00pm or 7:00-close (10:15pm). The event runs from July 18-27, and they would expect an average of 3 shifts per volunteer. All volunteers will need to attend the Orientation Meeting (date to be determined in early July).

Survey Conductor:
The Survey Conductor is will walk around the different stages approaching spectators with a pre-written questionnaire about their festival experience. Various shifts available.

Merchandise and Info Tent Assistant:
The Merchandise and Information Tent Attendant will opperate in the Headquarters Tent selling merchandise and informing visitors of busker scheduling and performance stages/sites. Various shifts avaiable.
