WANTED: One amazing high school student.
So said the tagline for SMUS’s first Best School Year Ever scholarship contest. Who knew we’d find so many amazing students and that they would make our journey – from 30 semi-finalists to three finalists to one winner – so difficult?
Although there is only one full-year scholarship to give away, we were so impressed by the quality of our finalists that the school increased the scholarship amounts on offer to the runners up. We are very pleased to announce the final results of the contest:
- The winner of a full-year boarding scholarship to St. Michaels University School for 2014-2015 is Santiago Mazoy from Chula Vista, CA.
- Alessandra Massa, from Bastrop, TX and Silke Kuhn, from Abbotsford, BC each win a $20,000 boarding scholarship to St. Michaels University School for the 2014-2015 school year.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of the contest,” says our Head of School Bob Snowden, “which elicited entries from across North America, from Vancouver Island to Florida. The entrants were the well-rounded, fascinating and interested people we like our SMUS students to be: all with their own particular excellence to pursue. We are looking forward to running this contest again next year!”
Prospective SMUS students who would like to enter next year’s contest are invited to sign up to our email contact list at www.BestSchoolYearEver.ca.
In the meantime, we’ll give the closing words to the three amazing high school students we found through the 2014 Best School Year Ever contest:
If you haven’t already met Silke, Santiago and Alessandra, see their contest entry videos in our previous Best School Year Ever post.
