Peer Tutor – ICA

ICAThe Peer Tutor program through the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) assists newcomer youth with homework, and helps youth feel welcome in Victoria. They are looking for volunteers.

The volunteer will share experiences and offer friendship, provide information pertaining to youth in Greater Victoria, take part in the homework club that meets Mondays from 4:00 – 5:30 at the Juan de Fuca Library from September through May. As the location is a bit of a drive, transportation is provided.

Volunteer requirements:
Peer tutor age: 14 – 22
Good academic record
Tutoring experience is an asset
Cross-cultural experience or personal commitment to learning about other cultures
Canadian born or living in Canada for at least 3 years

The time commitment is  1.5 hours per week on Mondays from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
