The sound of splashing through puddles, the smells of damp grass, the sight of falling leaves can only mean one thing: The cross-country running season is upon us. This year the Junior School students had an impressive 45 students participate. They practiced twice a week before school started and raced in parks across Victoria. The hard work in practices and determined performances in competitions have produced some amazing performances: Olivia Beatty, Kristina Matthews, Tyson Chestnut, Alexandra Brown, Eva Cuddihy, McKenna Anderson all secured top three finishes in their races.
“I am very proud of the achievements of all of our runners,” says Coach Gary Barber. “It has been a great season; I look forward to working with them in the spring as we start up our distance running and athletics clubs.”
“I really love cross-country races. One race was held during a wind storm, and although it was difficult, I was so pleased with how I managed. I won the race that day!” – Olivia

“I liked running up the hills and racing against other students.” – Eva
