A colleague sitting next to me mentioned how much she enjoyed what she called the “lighter” closing ceremony. The students who perform choose the music, grade ambassadors give quick and funny recaps of the year and, because of a tight format, we’re usually back into the spring sunlight within 90 minutes.
This year’s closing was no exception. The bands consisted of kids I had not previously seen play together, which is always refreshing. The Grade Advisors had some good anecdotes from the year and there was a real sense of freedom as the school song rang out at the end.
Congratulations to those who finished Grades 9 and 10. Enjoy your summer!
