Youth in Action is a youth-led initiative that brings about positive change for the people who live, learn, work or play in the Esquimalt or Hillside-Quadra areas. Teams of youth will get to know their community really well and map out all the things that make their neighbourhoods so great. Youth will create an action plan for their neighbourhood that brings about new ideas, projects and programs to make their community stronger.
Youth will be supported by Community Mentors as they learn about their community and the social issues affecting it. Youth in Action Team Members are aged between 15 and 24 and:
1. hang out in the Hillside-Quadra or Esquimalt areas
2. want to take action and create positive change in their neighbourhood
3. want to connect with others, learn about their community, gain new skills and have fun doing it
4. can commit to being a Youth in Action team member until the end of December 2014.
