Ride Don’t Hide Victoria- Ride Don’t Hide is a community bike ride on June 23rd, hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), with the goal of strengthening and supporting the mental health of women and their families.
In addition to the benefits of physical activity, as a volunteer you will be helping break the stigma associated with mental illness by joining the Ride Don’t Hide community. Volunteers contribute their time, expertise, and skills to make Ride Don’t Hide great!
Some volunteers help before the event by joining and supporting the local Ride Don’t Hide planning committees, speaking to people at outreach events, leading training rides and helping with administration. Others help on the event day by greeting riders at registration and lending helping hands along the route. There will be training, a public recognition and t-shirts for volunteers.
They need 100 volunteers:
•Marshalls at each intersection
•Food handlers to hand out snacks
•Several pairs of riders as pilots for each section of the ride
•Time keepers for the two timed trials
•Truck drivers to deliver cones, food and water
•First Aid support
•People to put up signage
•Entertainers, jugglers, face painters
•Bike mechanics on route
•Social media experts/Tweeters/Facebook
