Swan Lake Restoration Events

Beginning mid January 2013 the Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary is having weekly volunteer events, allowing volunteers and students to become involved in local restoration activities!  They will be on Saturdays from 10:00am -1:00pm

They have a volunteer group working on different projects around the site every weekend until the end of November 2013, from invasive species removal to tree planting.  You do not need any previous restoration experience, just a readiness to get your hands a little dirty and an enthusiasm for the outdoors.

Please remember to dress for the weather (they go out rain or shine) and to bring a reusable water bottle. It is mandatory to wear proper outdoor footwear (hiking or rain boots).  Any tools that you need will be provided and they are happy to teach you how to complete the various tasks.

Email their Restoration Assistant at restoration@swanlake.bc.ca or call 250-727-0653 for more information, the meeting location, or to be added to the volunteer email list. If you have trouble finding them on Saturday call 778-679-6089.
