Greetings y’all! It was so great to see so many students, parents, extended family, and teachers at this year’s Barn Dance. 416 people came out to support this outstanding evening. Between visiting with the ponies, dancing, kid’s zone, silent auction, corn guessing, and an amazing dinner, fun was had by all. Check out these photos to see for yourself.
The band, “Pistol’s West” was a hit. A huge thank you to Kyla Le Blanc, and Dallen Paul for adding some great fiddling flare to the evening. Thank you to Leonard Liao-Briere (Grade 11 student) for fiddling at the entrance to the evening.
The kernel of corn jar kept everyone guessing! The correct answer was 35,680 and Felix Huxley guessed 35,500 and won the basket of goodies. Way to go Felix!
The silent auction raised $7126.99. Many thanks to the businesses who so kindly donated items to the auction: Saltwater Theatre, Ali Baba Pizza, Sidney Pier, Tatum and Olivia Ladies Clothing Store (Sidney), Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa, West Coast Elevators, Brown Brothers, Dr. C. P. Singh, Emby Body Wallet, Evolution Hotel – Whistler, Whistler Blackcomb Edge Cards, and The Local Kitchen – Victoria.
A special thank you to everyone who volunteered to help me on the Barn Dance committee: Alison Davis, Heidi Jacob, Kate Campbell, Liz Butterfield, Moira Taylor and Shelley Miller. A job well done ladies!
Y’all come back now, ya hear!
