Ahoy there! The Maritime Museum is currently looking for enthusiastic students who would like to take part in their Pirate School this summer.
Pirate School is a community outreach program, where they go to events (such as the Oak Bay Tea Party, Canada Day Inner Harbour festivities, Saanich Fair, etc.) and provide programming at the Museum. At these events they interact with the public, mainly children, draw pirate tattoos, help out with crafts, create balloon swords and most importantly act like a Pirate!
Students who are in their final of years of high school, have an aptitude for acting/ drama, who have shown leadership and maturity and who can work well with people of all ages would be an asset. Employment is on an on-call/ casual basis from the start of June to early September, with one Pirate School day every week or two weeks. Training is provided by the Museum.
