Come join the Lifecycles and the Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre education team to help coordinate an exciting summer camp program. This will be a week of fun activities, including: Exploring urban farms; building compost bins; playing with red wriggler worms; learning about local food; planting seeds and growing veggies; outdoor games and activities; farm field trips; and much more!
Coordinators will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering the activities of the camp. There is a wealth of activities and schedules already developed from previous camps and existing programs from which to draw. Camp Coordinators will have the support of the Education and Outreach Coordinators from both Lifecycles and the Compost Ed Centre, as well as other volunteers. Camp Coordinators will also be responsible for participating in the evaluation and documentation of the camp. Application due June 8, please email [email protected] for more details.
The commitment is about 46 hours total: 8:30am-3:30pm, July 16-20, 2012, plus planning time beforehand (approximately 10 hrs in June and July) and debrief time after (approximately 6 hours in July).
