SMUS Expands to Welcome a New Class

This week, a very special event took place at the Junior School. We enthusiastically welcomed the kindergarten students who will be joining us next year, the first time the Junior School will have two kindergarten classes.

At our annual Welcome Tea, we hosted over 34 new students and their families. The current kindergarten children served as ambassadors to the new three- and four-year-olds and did an excellent job guiding their new friends through all the games and activities. While the children played, the parents had an opportunity to get to know each other and to meet both of next year’s kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Lincoln and Mrs. Gardner-Hill.

We are so excited to see so many bright children join us for the 2012-2013 school year and we look forward to seeing everyone again next fall. Special thanks to our Junior School Welcome Committee parents who helped welcome our new families.

  1. What a terrific welcome to the Junior School! My son already feels like he belongs there – he will be the 12th family member to attend SMUS.
