ALS Flower Day – June 2nd

ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Between 1,500 and 2,000 Canadians currently live with ALS. The cause is unknown. There is no known cure or treatment that prolongs life significantly – yet. They need our help to raise funds.

The ALS Society of BC is looking for people to help sell flowers at the Shelbourne Plaza on Saturday June 2nd. Volunteers serve two hour shifts from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is no hard sell involved-just smile, say hello and thanks! Last year over $20,000.00 was raised in the CRD for research into this dreadful disease.

The ALS Society of BC is dedicated to providing direct support to ALS patients, along with their families and caregivers, to ensure the best quality of life possible while living with ALS. They are committed to finding the cause of, and cure for ALS.
