Help Needed for Community Dinner


The James Bay Community School Society is a non-profit organization that manages the services and activities provided by the James Bay Community School Centre. They are looking for people to help with their community dinner program.

Volunteer Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-7:00 pm. The dinner program is ongoing September to June.

Responsibilities: Their popular senior’s dinner program offers affordable dinners and social opportunity for local seniors. Shifts and volunteer times are flexible.

Volunteer commitment: One or two shifts a week, or a couple per month.

Job details: Work with a team of staff and other volunteers. Dinner table set up. Meal service. Clean up. Sorting recyclables. Dish washing.

They are looking for outgoing people who work well with clients 55+, and volunteers who enjoy interactions with an older population. A criminal record check required. Each volunteer will be provided with a letter outlining volunteer duties, and will be asked to submit it to their local police department at no cost to the volunteer.
