SMUS Hands Out Christmas Hampers

Tis the season of giving and both the Middle and the Senior School embraced the holiday spirit by collecting toys and food for local families in need. Through the YWCA/YMCA outreach program, students are paired with specific families, which allows students to use their own insights to choose gifts and groceries for kids close to their own age. Though there are many great causes to donate money to, the Christmas hamper project is a unique service opportunity because of the way it personalizes the cause.

Senior School homerooms and Middle School TAG classes, as well as a couple of staff groups, were able to brighten up the holiday season with almost 50 very heavy hampers to feed and delight families around the city.
