Recently, my class had the opportunity to meet a special local artist, Rande Cook, known for his First Nations art with a distinctive style.
He shared with us his personal journey to becoming an artist and one of the things I took away from this experience was that it’s not what you create, it’s the feeling you get while you create.
We participated in a Rande Cook inspired painting class during Art at SMUS and it was through exploring his work and adapting it, we created our own personal signature pieces that we later shared with him.
Rande’s belief of pealing the layers to find the energy, color and life is evident in each piece of art that he creates.
