Alumnus Dariusz Dziewanski ’97 returned to speak to AP Human Geography and Geography 11 students about Liberia, where he has has been living and working for the past year. His talk focused on Liberia’s slow recovery from civil war and the pervasive violence against women. Dariusz also collected funds from students to help upgrade a school in one of the most dangerous areas of the country.
During his presentation, he showed a video from the Norwegian Refugee Council on violence against women and answered a few questions from students. Dariusz is currently an international development consultant, who has worked for NGOs and governments in Ethopia, Costa Rica and Argentina.
