Middle School Students Treasure Museum Visit

by Jim De Goede, Middle School teacher

Seventy excited SMUS Grade 7 students and 18 teachers and parents arrived at the Royal BC Museum to enjoy the Treasures: The World’s Cultures from the British Museum. Mr. Manson-Blair prepared a booklet to focus students on particular exhibits and students worked their way through the various rooms marveling at 300 Egyptian, Greek, African, Roman, Middle Eastern and European objects from 1.5 millions years of human history. As we returned on the buses it was clear that the morning was well spent and the students had enjoyed the opportunity to learn in a whole new environment. Now that’s how a school year should start!
