Ice Cream Day Keeps Students Cool

A tradition carried on this week as all SMUS students received free ice cream, handed out by a band of alumni at the Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools. On a day when the temperature hit a record high, Chris Spicer ’70, Michael Symons ’63, Mervyn Lougher-Goodey ’56, Brian Cameron ’70, Philip Sherwin ’69 and Bruce Holms ‘71 enjoyed a cold treat with hundreds of happy students. Ice Cream Day, now in its 78th year, began on founder Kyrle C. Symons 50th birthday, when he decided to include students in his celebration.
