  • Register for your courses at the earliest possible date to get the best timetable and best professor selection.
  • Talk to upper year students about who the best professors are.
  • Attend the first year orientation program.
  • Go on a library tour.
  • Sit near the front especially in large lectures.
  • Go meet your professors personally during office hours.
  • Attend classes.
  • Get notes if you have to miss a class.
  • Work in small chunks over time rather than leaving assignments until the last minute.
  • Concentrate on assignments that count for more marks first.
  • Don’t worry about dropping a course if you’re doing poorly, but make sure you do so before the course drop deadline.
  • Review old tests and exams especially those written by your professors.
  • Start a study group.

  • Get involved in extra-curricular activities and clubs.
