Each class in the Junior School has organized student led conferences during the final part of the second term. This gives parents an opportunity to come into the school during the school day and spend about an hour with their children in the classroom setting. The goal of these conferences is for children to be able to share their learning with their parents and to give their parents an understanding of what they have accomplished and enjoyed about their year so far. They also spend some time doing some goal setting for the final term of school.
Each class has a different approach to the set up of the conferences but all children do share a portfolio of work. There have been slide shows, project presentations and a variety of activities to demonstrate learning. It has been obvious that there has been a joyful atmosphere as students spend this important time with their parents.
