SMUS Crew Starts Spring Rowing Season Strong
This weekend SMUS rowers raced for the first time as a Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) club representing St. Michaels University School at the Elk Lake Spring Regatta. This was the first of several regattas of the spring season for this small group of 11 athletes, who had an extremely successful showing and raced against crews from across the island and the mainland.

Grade 9 Girls Basketball
The Grade 9 girls faced off with Spencer in the first round of playoffs on Tuesday. After a slow start, SMUS found a way to score against their zone defence. Madison Hadfield, Ali Pollen and Isailah Johnson-Ferguson were able to find their shooting rhythm and put SMUS ahead at the half. The game was closely contested and two of the Blue Jags fouled out in the second half. Nicole Chan, Ali Pollen and Isailah Johnson-Fergusons’ pressure in the back court changed the tone of the game. The point differential in the second half was only 2 points, which meant the defensive effort secured the SMUS win, 40-30. The girls move on to the semi-final match on Tuesday against Dunsmuir.
